Quite surprising confession made by Wenworth Miller. TV series PRISON BREAK
star admitted that he was gay. As released by TMZ.com, the recognition was there
when it was invited to an event Wenworth St. Petersburg International Film Festival
in Russia. However, he declined the invitation to attend for a reason. Miller declined the invitation because of anti-gay laws imposed by the
Russian government.
Reason for rejecting his arrival was conveyed through a letter addressed to Maria
Averbakh. The woman is the chief organizer of the event St. Petersburg
International Film Festival.
"Thank you for your invitation. As a person who loves to visit Russia in the past, as well as people who do have Russian blood, then I am happy to say 'yes'. Yet as a gay man, I had to refuse," according to a letter Wenworth related to the invitation.
Through the letter anyway, Wenworth said that he was concerned with the treatment
of the Russian government on gay during considered quite brutal. The letter was
made public on the website itself GLAAD to be seen by many more people.
Russia itself enforce the law last month. The law prohibits public
discussion of gay rights and gay relationships in place that can be seen or
heard the children. In June, Russia imposed a rule prohibiting Russian children
adopted by gay couples or couples who accept the existence of LGBT people.
